I am currently completing my Master's at Towson University in Child Life, Administration and Family Collaboration. I will graduate with my Master's Fall 2016 after the completion of my child life internship.
I graduated with my Bachelor's degree Magna Cum Laude in May 2015 from Towson University with a double major in Family and Human Services' Child Life track and Psychology. I graduated with a 3.8 GPA and dean's list every semester.
During my undergrad at Towson, I was one of four students accepted into the B.S to M.S Child Life program at Towson which allowed me to complete graduate classes during my senior year of undergrad, and then transition after graduation into a full time graduate student.
Extracurricular activities I am involved in at Towson are the Child Life Club as the Vice President, Team Captain for Relay for Life, a Family and Human Services student ambassador, and a Family and Human Services research methods tutor.
Internship at Inova Children's Hospital, Falls Church, VA

I am currently completing a 600 hour, 15 week internship that consist of one 7-week rotation in the Emergency Department (ED) and one 6-week rotation the PICU. In the ED I observed and indenpently provided introductions to services, psychological preparation, and procedural support for ED procedures and traumas. I have completed 360 hours of my internship thus far.

Practicum at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA

I completed a 150+ hour practicum that consisted of two 6 week rotations and an elective week. My first rotation was in an endocrinology inpatient unit where I worked with mostly new diabetics. My second rotation was in radiology where I worked with a variety of patients. I also, organized and facilitated a hospital wide luau with therapeutic activities.
Practicum at The Herman and Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai, Baltimore, MD

I completed a 170+ hour, university affiliated practicum. The Children's Hospital at Sinai is a small community hospital with a specialty in orthopedics. I was a student for the inpatient unit which consists of 26 beds and 3 child life specialists on staff.

Volunteer with Gilchrist Kids Hospice Care, Baltimore, MD

During my volunteering, I completed a three day orientation training and End of Life Doula training. I was paired with a family in which I made weekly visits providing develpmentally appropriate play and stimulation for the patient and/or sibling. I als provided support and respite care for the caregiver.

Volunteer at Johns Hopkins Children's Center, Baltimore, MD

During my volunteering time I have been in both outpatient and inpatient pediatric oncology units and the PICU which has given me a wide range of experiences. I have also helped run special events such as Camp Sunrise in the hospital, Fourth of July, special movie showings, home depot activities, and a dance event. Through my volunteering at the hospital I have completed 400+ hours.

Dynasty Sports Academy goes to local preschools to teach 8 week sessions of a variety of sports skills and education with the children to promote physical, social, and cognitive development. I teach dance skills as well as the origin and terms of ballet and jazz to the children, end the 8 weeks with a dance routine to perform.

The Little Gym of Hunt Valley, Hunt Valley, MD

The Little Gym is a gymnastics facility for children ages 4 months to 12 years. I teach children of these age ranges in gymnastics, dance, and sports skills. The classes are structured to grow physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and emotional development of children.

At the Parkville Recreation Center I was on the teaching staff of two different dance programs. These programs were offered to children ages 3 and up to improve dance, balance, coordination, fine and gross motor, and memory skills. I taught children ages 3 to 18 in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, and hip hop.
